What is the Product Management Accelerator?
It is an intensive 12-week, cohort-based program designed to transition mid-level PMs into senior leadership roles. We focus on advanced strategy, product-led growth, and navigating the unique challenges of the African tech ecosystem.
Is this program online or in person?
The program is 100% virtual to accommodate leaders from across the continent. We use a blend of live weekend workshops, mid-week peer study groups, and an asynchronous community platform.
What is the time commitment?
Expect to spend 6–9 hours per week. This includes a 2-hour live session on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays and approximately 3–5 hours for hands-on projects and peer networking.
How is this different from other PM courses?
While we teach global best practices, as promoted by the Silicon Valley product group (SVPG), our curriculum is localized. We tackle problems specific to Africa, such as: Building for low-bandwidth environments. Navigating fragmented payment landscapes. Scaling products across 54 diverse markets. Case studies on African unicorns like Flutterwave, Moniepoint, and Safaricom.
Do I need a technical/coding background to join?
No. This program focuses on Product Leadership. While we touch on technical literacy for PMs, our primary focus is on product discovery, customer research, strategy, stakeholder management, data-driven decision-making and prototyping.
Is this just for tech companies?
No. While we focus on digital-first strategies, the leadership principles apply to any product-led organization.
What will I have at the end of the 12 weeks?
Beyond a certificate of completion, you will have developed a Product Strategy Playbook based on a real-world project which you will work on with other fellows; a network of 40+ senior African PM peers, and access to mentors.
Who is this program for?
This is not an "Intro to PM" course. It is designed for: Active PMs with 2+ years of experience. (Non)Technical Founders looking to scale their product vision. Engineers or Designers transitioning into Product Leadership.
Which time zones are the live sessions in?
Sessions are scheduled to accommodate WAT (West Africa Time), CAT (Central Africa Time), and EAT (East Africa Time). Typically, live sessions happen between the hours of 4-pm WAT.
How much does the program cost?
The total investment for the 12-week program is $500 for self-sponsored PMs. Please contact us for Corporate rates.
Are there payment plans available?
We do offer scholarships to PMs who meet our criteria before each cohort starts and we also offer “grants” before cohorts begin, which PMs can look out for. We understand the financial climate. We can also provide a "Request for Sponsorship" template you can use to ask your employer to cover your tuition.
Do you offer scholarships?
e offer a limited number of Scholarships for each cohort.
Do you offer corporate discounts?
Yes, for teams of 3 or more.
Will this help me get a job in a global firm?
Yes. We teach you how to translate your experience in African markets into a language that global recruiters value—specifically focusing on innovation under constraints.
What happens after the 12 weeks?
You don't just leave; you graduate into the PLA Alumni Network. This gives you lifetime access to our community, invitation-only summits, and a first look at senior PM roles shared by our hiring partners across the continent, and exclusive invite to our summits, conferences and events.
